About the Event
This is a book club for all middle schoolers! We chose the name “Baker Street Bookclub” in reference to 221b Baker Street from the Sherlock Holmes book series. We hope to make reading fun and interesting through a series of hands-on projects and discussions. Our first read will be Holes by Louis Sachar, a classic novel filled with laughs that also examines relevant issues in our world today!
Activity Leader bio: This activity will be hosted by Manasvini and Naomi.
Naomi is an advocate for climate justice and a member of various environmental organizations. She also frequently volunteers with Grassroots Ecology through her chapter of the National Charity League, of which she is the 2023 class President. Additionally, Naomi is a member of her school's water polo and swim teams. Outside of school, she participates in club water polo and swim. When she isn’t in the water, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, practicing yoga, and of course, reading.
Manasvini is part of her school’s swim and water polo team. She enjoys reading, sketching terrible drawings of renowned actresses, and eating… a lot. While she enjoys English, Manasvini also has a keen interest in biotech and lab research.
