About the Event

We will be stretching, doing different yoga poses, and meditating. This involves practicing deep breathing in and out as well as deep belly breathing; focusing on the breath. This class will be very relaxing and will help to loosen up those muscles and joints that we tend to neglect taking care of. Yoga can also help to alleviate stress, improve blood circulation, strengthen oneself, help with pains/strain in the body, improve digestive power, balance, posture and more. This is a great act of self care and a way to thank your body for doing so much for you.

Activity Leader bio: My name is Nicole and I am from California. I am a rising sophomore in high school (10th grade). I am a very artistic person and like to express my creativity in my bullet journal, drawing, and making cards for people. I am also a dancer and former cheerleader and do many different genres of dance such as ballet, contemporary, hip hop, acro/tumbling, and more. I love being involved and giving back to the community. I am also into public speaking and have been in my schools speech/debate club this past year. In my free time, I dance, journal, stay active, read and be involved with school. I tend to be a busy person which is another reason why I think yoga/stretching is so great for the body and mind because even taking a little bit of time out of your day to tend for your body and relax is a great act of self care.

Materials Needed: Yoga mat if desired (not required)
